Pointer Sisters (THE TIME MACHINE)

Look what you're doing to me
I'm utterly at your whim
All of my defenses down
Your camera looks through me
With its X-ray vision
And all systems run aground
All I can manage to push from my lips
Is a stream of absurdities
Every word I intended to speak
Wind up locked in the circuitry

The women's world and competion with same sex

As women,we are the pillars of the society.we are the ones who determine the strength of our society.even with such strong and important roles in our society,we still have issues tht we deal with in our every today living. The biggest challenge we face is how we relate with other women.instead of building each other we tend to destroy each other.in most cases we dress up elegantly nt to impress men bt to compete with other women.this brings about rivalry because every woman wants to be above the other.this competition has its consequences.it becomes sad when some women stoop so low like getting involved in prostitution jst to be number one. some women get inspired negatively from what their friends have.this happens when some of us bleach ourselves, take slimming pills,so as to be better than the rest.the worst happens when we get jealous of each other at our working places.the major contribution of this jealousy, from my point of view,is the difference in qualifications among ourselves. if you are new and more qualified, there are women who feel threatned that you will take their place in a few years.some women do not want to put in the effort but they do not want to be outshone by those who do.thats when the backbiting and rumour mongering starts.instead of being inspired by other women's success,we get jealous and try to pull each other down. being the pillars,we should try and make our relations better for a better society.we should allow our principles and good morals guide us.

“More substance abuse occurs as a consequence of abortions. A significant increase in major depression, suicide and self destructive behavior is associated with abortion."

American physicians have called on the Kenyan government to protect the life of the unborn in the current draft constitution before it goes to referendum. The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG) said that legalization of abortion has had adverse effects on the maternal health of women undergoing these procedures “More substance abuse occurs as a consequence of abortions. A significant increase in major depression, suicide and self destructive behavior is associated with abortion."
The physicians also said that in addition to adverse health consequences for women, legalizing abortion has devastating consequences for infant health.
They cited an example in USA and Western Europe, saying legalizing abortion has been associated with an increase in premature births in subsequent pregnancies which can lead to cerebral palsy, mental and physical handicaps as well as prolonged hospitalizations in neonatal intensive care units. In a statement signed by president -elect and director of AAPLOG, President of Catholic Medical Association and MD for Maternal Life International they said, "In resource poor countries, the majority of these premature babies would not survive and add to the toll of infant mortality. “According to the physicians who have experience in providing medical care for women not only in US but also in developing nations in Africa and rest of the world, a recent study in Finland showed that 20 percent of women undergoing medical abortions suffered from major complications including hemorrhage and retained tissue requiring surgical evacuation. "The assertion that legalization of abortion is necessary to prevent maternal mortality is false. For example, Ethiopia's transition to legal abortion from 2003 to 2007 was accompanied by more severe abortion complications and higher fatality rate," they reiterated.
They, therefore, said there is no basis for asserting that legalization of abortion will have a beneficial effect on the health of women, adding that many of those who promote abortion are not primarily concerned with women's health, but rather with population control, fighting terrorism and global warming.
"Advocates of legalized abortion have greatly exaggerated the percentage of maternal deaths due to abortion in Africa.
The doctors also said that legalizing abortion would have virtually no effect on maternal mortality, which is due primarily to hemorrhage, infection and obstructed labor. Relevant Links

Health They strongly reiterated that abortion proponents have corrupted local medical organisations, falsely claiming that strict constitutional protections of unborn life would prevent necessary medical procedures.
But treatment of spontaneous abortion, complications of illegally induced abortion and performance of appropriate obstetrician's procedures when a woman's life is in danger would not restrict under the regimen of strict constitutional protection for life."Kenya can feel reassured that maintaining powerful protections for the unborn in her new proposed Bill of Rights is compatible with assuring the highest standards of physical and mental health for women," they said.
According to World Health Organization (WHO), only 3.9 percent of maternal deaths in Africa are due to abortion, including spontaneous abortion.

Leadership in Kenya

leadership is the ability to control a certain situation to achieve a set objective.its also the ability to show direction inorder to achive something.leadership is an opportunity to change a society for a better tomorrow.

a leader should be humble and open minded.A true leader should be ready to take criticism from his or her subordinates.A true leader integrates ideas from each and every person and uses them for the betterment of others. He or she does not dismiss anyone because of their religion, ethnicity, social status or even their level in education.

the world today has had its share of bad and good leadership and the results have had dire consequencs on its people and the land as well.Kenya has also had its share of good and bad leaders.Bad leadership in the land and forestry sectors,in kenya, has resulted to ethnic clashes as communities fight for limited resources. This then has resulted to deforestation which has brought about lack of rainfall hence drought.political leadership which has has seen kenya at its lowest point during the post_election violence that resulted to loss of lives, enemity, tribalism and worst of all destruction of homes hence presence of internally displaced persons.

Leaders are the pillar of the society and they can either make or break the people.leadership is power and can be used either positively or negatively. As youths in kenya,we should take up more leadership roles. We are the leaders of today and not tomorrow because there is no tomorrow if our today is ruined. Our current leaders are not the ones who should make each and every decision for us.As we approach our general elections, let us not be puppets for our leaders.Let us be our own leaders and not allow ourselves to be controlled by those above us just because they are our leaders or more influential.

Remember, effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked, leadership is defined results and not attributes. It doesnt matter who you are or where you from, what does is what you achieve.
